A traditional and very special recipe from Minas Gerais cuisine.
Ingredients
For the dough:
- 2 cups of cornmeal
- 4 cups of water
- 1 teaspoon of salt
For the filling:
- 300 g of ground meat
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 chopped garlic cloves
- Chopped green herbs to taste
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Preparation method:
In a pot, bring the water with the salt to a boil.
Add the cornmeal gradually, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
Cook until it forms a firm angu. Let it cool.
For the filling, sauté the ground meat with onion, garlic, salt, and pepper until well cooked. Finish with chopped green herbs.
Take small portions of the dough in your hands, place the filling in the center, and close to form pastries.
Fry in hot oil until golden brown.
Remove and drain on paper towels before serving.
